ikman.lk, Sri Lanka’s largest online marketplace showcased an impressive growth for 2017 according to data recently released by the company.
Showcasing that Ikman has achieved more Internet market share this year, the company recorded a surge of 52% in the number of total visits to its website for November 2017. The total number of visits is defined as people visiting the site multiple times within a month. As such the total number of visits was 19 million in November after starting the year in January which was 12.5 million.
ikman.lk also recorded a growth of 32% in the total number of unique visitors. For November, Ikman recorded a total of 3.3 million unique visitors from 2.5 million in January. In case you didn’t know, a unique visitor is a person who visits the site multiple times within the month but counted as only one. A ratio derived from unique visitors and total visitors indicated ikman.lk recorded on average a person visits the site at a frequency of six times within a month.
In terms of advertising, the total new ads posted on ikman.lk during 2017 grew by 13%, with November registering a high of 170,000. On the other hand, this statistic is not a reflection of the total number of ads received, as all new ads received are not published unless it meets the guidelines on ikman.lk prior to being published. Further, all ads posted are automatically deleted after two months keeping the site updated and relevant.
Driving ikman.lk’s hold in the online space of buying and selling is the increase in interested buyers. For November 2017, ikman.lk cataloged 2.4 million interested buyers. This was a growth of 14% since January 2017. This statistic is decisive in illustrating the growth of buyer confidence in ikman.lk. Further demonstrating, on average every seller having access to a minimum of 14 interested buyers.
ikman.lk’s value-added service, memberships also showed a growth of 15%. In November 2017, ikman.lk Memberships stood at 3,000. ikman.lk Members enjoy a host of benefits including a dedicated page on the site, company profile, branding, contact information, etc. providing significant business value for small and medium business sellers.
ikman.lk’s Sell Fast service too has witnessed rapid progress. Offering members of the public who are not IT savvy and do not have ready access to the internet, an easy way to post their advertisements, ikman.lk’s unique Sell Fast service has appointed agents island-wide with prominently displayed ‘Sell Fast’ signage. As at November 2017 ikman.lk had established 200 Sell Fast outlets, an increase of 33% with 50 more outlets compared with 150 at the beginning of the year.
Enriching the overall customer experience where members and partners can showcase their products at discounted and attractive prices in one location, ikman.lk Deals documented a growth of 17% In November 2017 with a total of 7,000 orders executed through ikman Deals on ikman.lk.
